Mamelodi sisters gunned down in cold blood

South African police have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the shooting deaths of two young women found in Mamelodi East, Pretoria. The suspect will appear in Mamelodi Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, following the discovery of the victims' bodies on Sunday morning.

Tshiamo Moramaga, 22, and her cousin Baleseng Moramaga, 21, were found with fatal gunshot wounds to their heads in Sompisi Street. Neighbors reported hearing arguments and gunfire around 4 a.m. that day, with witnesses saying Tshiamo was heard arguing with her boyfriend before the shots rang out.

The cousins shared a rented room and had grown up together since childhood. Tshiamo was studying beauty therapy while Baleseng was pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of South Africa. Police discovered their bodies after community members alerted authorities at 6:15 a.m.

Investigators have opened a double murder case but have not yet determined a motive for the killings. The victims' family members expressed devastation over the loss and called for justice.
