An unidentified man died after scaling a 60-meter telecommunications tower in the Richmond Spar area of Bulawayo and leaping from the top. Witnesses reported seeing him climb the booster station structure, dance at its peak, and remove his clothing before jumping to his death.
Bulawayo Chief Fire Officer Mhlangano Moyo confirmed that emergency responders arrived at the scene but were unable to prevent the fatal plunge. Residents did not recognize the victim, though some believed he may have come from the Ngozi Mine informal settlement nearby. Observers suggested the man appeared mentally unstable and possibly intoxicated during the incident.
