Man shot in Golok, Thailand, dies in hospital

A Malaysian man wounded during a shooting at his residence in Golok, Thailand, died at a hospital on Saturday night. Mohd Fuad Fahmie Ghazali, 33, succumbed to his injuries around 9 p.m. following treatment at Sungai Golok Hospital, according to his mother Zaiton Abdul Rahman, 64. She learned of the attack and hospitalization at 8 p.m. before receiving notification of his death one hour afterward.

Authorities in Thailand identified a person of interest who reportedly abandoned a 9mm handgun at the scene and resided nearby. Witnesses described an altercation between the two men over financial matters, though details about the debt remain uncertain. Officers continue pursuing the individual while investigating what prompted the violence.

Fuad hailed from Kampung Kepas Apam in Kelantan and was married to Wan Fatihah Mat Hussin, 35. The pair had no offspring. His body was scheduled for transport to his native village during the afternoon.
