Manna grills Dhaka University over shady ballot prints

Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna challenged Dhaka University officials Sunday over their handling of student election ballot printing contracts. The former DUCSU vice-president expressed disbelief at Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan's claims that authorized printing companies transferred the work to a Nilkhet facility without university knowledge. Manna described the administrative explanation as unusual and emphasized that sensitive electoral materials require explicit approval before any contractor changes occur. He referenced his business experience to highlight standard practices requiring permission from primary authorities before subcontracting arrangements.

University administrators first dismissed media reports about the ballot printing controversy before attempting to defend their procedures without conducting investigations. Manna questioned how officials could declare the process free from irregularities without a proper examination of the circumstances. He called for a thorough investigation into the matter and demanded clear statements about whether unauthorized subcontracting violates university policies. Students and citizens deserve transparent answers about the electoral process.
