Marine Le Pen vows to block Macron’s government amid crisis

Marine Le Pen, the veteran right-wing French politician, has pledged to block any new government actions after President Emmanuel Macron promised to appoint a new prime minister within two days to address the growing political crisis.

Le Pen’s National Rally (RN) party holds the largest share of seats in parliament. On Wednesday, she called on Macron to either dissolve the National Assembly and call fresh elections or resign.

"I vote against everything... This joke has gone on long enough," said the three-time presidential candidate.

Macron’s administration faces mounting challenges, with France's record-high debt and ongoing debates over the 2026 budget. Despite Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s resignation, Macron has asked him to serve as caretaker until midweek.
