Marumani leads Chevrons to historic win over Namibia

Zimbabwe defeated Namibia by five wickets at Queens Sports Club yesterday, securing their first Twenty20 International series victory over their opponents. The Chevrons restricted Namibia to 169 runs for six wickets before successfully chasing the target in 18.1 overs. Tadiwanashe Marumani achieved his third consecutive half-century, forming vital partnerships with Brian Bennett and Brendan Taylor during the pursuit. Richard Ngarava and Bradley Evans each claimed two wickets while bowling Namibia out for 169 runs. Coach Justin Sammons made tactical changes by selecting Tony Munyonga and Tinotenda Maposa for the match.

Namibia lost their final three wickets during the closing two overs after building partnerships earlier in their innings. Marumani reached 50 runs from 36 deliveries before falling, while Ryan Burl and Tashinga Musekiwa finished unbeaten to secure victory. The series triumph represents Zimbabwe's first Twenty20 International success against Namibia after losing previous encounters. Maposa celebrated the achievement at his home venue, emphasizing the team's preparation work. Thursday's final match at Queens Sports Club offers free entry for supporters.
