Maruti hits export record, Nissan rides GST wave

Maruti Suzuki sold 189,665 vehicles in September, marking a 3 percent increase from 184,727 units the previous year. The automaker achieved record exports of 42,204 units despite domestic sales falling to 135,711 vehicles from 148,061 units. The company delivered 165,000 vehicles during the first eight days of Navratri after improved consumer confidence following GST reforms. Sales to other manufacturers rose to 11,750 units compared with 8,938 units last September.

Nissan Motor India reported 10,500 total units sold during the month, representing 9.3 percent growth from the prior year. Domestic wholesale reached 1,652 vehicles while exports climbed to 8,872 units, with South Asia purchases hitting a regional record of 1,120 units. The manufacturer reduced New Magnite prices by up to 100,000 rupees after passing GST benefits to buyers. The company plans to introduce three new models while expanding its dealer network across the country.
