Masiyiwa 500M Baby Lifeline Takes Africa By Storm

Strive Masiyiwa and his wife, Tsitsi, started a $500 million fund to save moms and babies in Africa. Their Beginnings Fund aims to keep 300,000 people alive before 2030 with better healthcare. The money will pay for treatments and more doctors in ten African countries. Other partners gave an extra $100 million to help more women and children. The team will run everything from their office in Nairobi, Kenya.

The project started because health aid money for Africa has gone down. The fund will fight problems that kill mothers during childbirth and newborn babies with breathing troubles. Alice Kangethe runs the program and works closely with African health experts. Big groups like the Gates Foundation put money into this project to make it happen. Strive wrote nice things about Tsitsi on Facebook for finding partners who want to make healthcare better for mothers across Africa.
