Massive Uni Scholarships Hit Ugandan Youth

Stanbic Bank Uganda teamed up with UNICAF to help students pay for college. The bank offers scholarships that cover up to 82 percent of school costs. Students can use these scholarships for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from universities mainly located around the UK and Europe. The partnership also covers skill-based courses and professional training programs.

Israel Arinaitwe runs personal banking at Stanbic Bank Uganda. He says many families cannot afford higher education costs. The scholarship program helps remove money barriers that stop capable students from pursuing their dreams. The bank wants to invest directly into Uganda's people and help youth build better futures for themselves.

UNICAF works with well-known schools like University of Suffolk and Liverpool John Moores University. Moses Turyagumanawe represents UNICAF across Uganda. He explains the partnership makes quality education available to more students at lower prices. Students learn through flexible online programs that fit around their current schedules and responsibilities.

Brenda Namanda manages youth and family banking at Stanbic Bank. She believes education drives economic growth across the country. The bank has already seen success with similar education programs among its workers. The partnership extends these opportunities to all bank customers throughout Uganda.
