Mavetera's digital mandate targets Zimbabwean women

Zimbabwe hosted its first Her Digital Indaba conference to address women's participation in the nation's technology sector. Government officials, business leaders, and technology professionals gathered to discuss closing the gender divide in digital spaces. The event examined digital literacy as a basic human right while exploring methods to create safer online environments for female participants.

Speakers emphasized accelerating human resource development within the Fourth Industrial Revolution framework. Usawa Institute's Anozivaishe Marindire highlighted the need for faster national progress in digital capacity building. Audrey Chidawanyika stressed that personal experiences should guide policy formation to bridge technological gaps between different population groups.

Minister Tatenda Mavetera addressed delegates about women's essential involvement in Zimbabwe's digital transformation. She outlined government initiatives to provide comprehensive technology training for female citizens. The conference established Zimbabwe's commitment to preventing any citizen from falling behind in the country's technology advancement efforts.
