Mbappe drops PSG harassment bombshell before Real Madrid showdown

Kylian Mbappe decided to drop his legal case against Paris Saint-Germain just days before the two teams face off at the Club World Cup. Pierre-Olivier Sur, one of his lawyers, made the announcement on Monday. Real Madrid and PSG will meet at the semifinal stage on Wednesday. The French striker had accused his former team of treating him badly during the 2023-24 season. Paris prosecutors had opened an investigation after Mbappe filed his complaint about harassment.

The 26-year-old star felt PSG pushed him aside when he refused to sign a new deal with the club. Team officials made him train with players they wanted to sell rather than with the main squad. Other footballers have faced similar treatment from their clubs. The French players union even filed their complaint about this practice last year. Mbappe missed the team trip to Asia for pre-season training and sat out the first match of that campaign.

PSG eventually brought Mbappe back into the team after talks between both sides. The striker spent seven years with the Paris club before moving to Real Madrid last summer. He found the net 256 times during his 308 appearances for PSG. The French team won their first Champions League title right after Mbappe left the club. The captain of France still wants PSG to pay him 55 million euros for wages and bonuses he claims they owe him.
