MEC clarifies MCP complaints came from individuals not party

Justice Annabel Mtalimanja confirmed that the Malawi Electoral Commission has not received formal complaints from the Malawi Congress Party about election procedures. Individual party members submitted grievances rather than official party documentation. The Commission distinguishes between personal complaints and formal party submissions when determining response protocols. Different procedures apply to each type of grievance according to electoral regulations. Mtalimanja assured voters that all concerns would receive proper investigation regardless of their source.

The Electoral Commission maintains its commitment to follow established laws while addressing submitted issues. Transparency and accountability remain priorities throughout the investigation process. Political organizations and civil society groups monitor the electoral process closely during this period. The Commission emphasized that professional standards guide all complaint-handling procedures. Mtalimanja stated that no concern will be ignored during the review process.
