American humanitarian organization Mennonite Central Committee has delivered essential supplies to correctional facilities across Malawi, providing bedding materials, canned poultry, hygiene products and rehabilitation resources for approximately 17,000 detained individuals. Prison Service spokesman Steven Charles Meke stated that adequate physical and psychological wellness enables detainees to participate more effectively in skill-building initiatives designed to prepare them for societal reentry following release.
