Mexican Navy plane crashes in Texas fog, five dead

A Mexican Navy plane crashed near Texas, killing at least five people. The aircraft went down in Galveston Bay close to Scholes International Airport during foggy weather while on a medical mission for the Michou y Mau Foundation, a group that helps Mexican children with serious burns. One person is still missing, and two were rescued alive. Mexico's navy is coordinating search efforts with the US Coast Guard.

Video showed the wreckage almost underwater, with witnesses and police wading through the debris. A local yacht captain named Sky Decker brought officers to the site and found a severely injured woman trapped in the wreck with a tiny air pocket, breathing in bad jet fuel fumes. Rescuers, including a dive team, worked in thick fog near the airport. The foundation posted a statement online offering condolences to the families of the victims.
