Mike Godson chokes on 100 cattle lobola shock in Harare

Nollywood actor Mike Godson praised Zimbabwean women after attending the Harare premiere of Lost In Ashes featuring Mai TT. The performer described local women as beautiful, warm, and strong while noting the exceptional hospitality he received during his visit. He pledged to return to the country after experiencing what he characterized as unprecedented kindness.

Godson expressed surprise upon learning that traditional marriage customs could require up to 100 cattle as lobola. The actor noted that Nigerian bride price remains constant regardless of a woman's social status, but Zimbabwean customs differ significantly. Mai TT clarified that lobola represents cultural respect and family honor rather than a simple transaction. The tradition serves to celebrate heritage and acknowledge the value of family bonds.
