Minda High celebrates top achievers at awards day

A Catholic secondary school in Matabeleland South recognized students who excelled academically and in activities at its annual awards ceremony, held under a heritage education theme. Minda High School in Matobo District achieved 95 percent pass rates at the advanced level and 94 percent at the ordinary level examinations this year. Headmaster Norcan Nyamambi said enrollment grew from 446 students to 495 between the 2024 and 2025 terms.

The institution employs 33 teachers and 21 support workers who pursue professional development opportunities. Provincial Education Director Beatrice Manjere praised the heritage-based curriculum for combining traditional values with modern technology and practical training. Student Sithokozile Ncube won gold in the triple jump at under-20 competitions, while five teammates earned medals at national athletics events. The school received a merit recognition from the education authorities in February for its performance standards.
