Mineral Chief Dele Alake Calls Out World Leaders

Nigerian minerals minister Dele Alake wants countries to work together on clean energy. He said this at a Paris meeting, where he discussed how countries with minerals can help make greener power. Mining must change to protect nature through better site picking, less waste, and smarter operations, he stated. Alake sees this as something we must do for our children.

Nigeria collected almost seven billion naira from mining permits early this year. The country officially recognized 1,200 small mining groups and approved hundreds of new mining applications. Foreign companies can skip import taxes and pay less money to the government when they invest in Nigerian minerals. Africa has important materials like lithium and copper needed for batteries and computers.

Alake leads a group of African mining chiefs who want to make finished products instead of just sending raw minerals to other places. He thinks everyone must help make mineral supply chains fair and open. Nigeria plans to team up with many partners around the world. The country wants energy changes that help both the Earth and people.
