Minister says sorry for mocking daily prayers

The Upper West Regional Minister got himself into hot water with Muslims recently. Charles Lwanga Puozuing made comments about Islamic prayer practices that upset many people. A viral video showed him mocking the five daily prayers, saying only jobless people could follow them properly. He suggested prayers could just be done whenever because God would understand anyway.

Muslim leaders weren't having any of it. The Regional Chief Imam's office blasted the comments as disrespectful, arrogant, plus inflammatory. They demanded that Puozuing apologize publicly within three days or face consequences. This represented how all Muslims in the region felt about his words.

The lawyer-turned-minister didn't wait for the deadline to expire. He quickly organized visits to various religious leaders across the region. Puozuing brought his team along as he apologized for offending the Islamic community. His swift action aimed to heal the rift his careless words had created with an important religious group in the Upper West Region.
