Mkoani fish market set to reel in jobs

Fishermen in Pemba finally got a massive upgrade after years of waiting. Second Vice President Hemed Suleiman Abdulla opened a fresh fish market in Mbuyuni meant to boost the local economy in Mkoani District. He claims this spot will help vendors secure better incomes while creating safe working conditions for everyone involved.

The administration insists that stall distribution must remain fair based on actual need rather than connections. Abdulla also demanded digital payment systems for transparency and warned that fees should match what locals can actually afford. Officials want to ensure cash flows straight back to the government without getting lost.

Minister Massoud Ali Mohammed confirmed that cash sits ready for a processing factory right behind the new building. His team already started mapping things out. He promised to keep supporting seaweed farmers and fishers who drive the national economy but often get overlooked during major development pushes.

Captain Hamad Bakari revealed the government dropped over ten billion shillings on this facility. The massive complex can handle two hundred vessels daily while serving roughly ten thousand people. It offers extensive storage space, which traders desperately needed to stop their catch from rotting before sale.

Regional Commissioner Rashid Hadid Rashid hyped up recent blue economy reforms under President Dr Hussein Mwinyi. He noted that the distribution of two hundred thirty-nine boats significantly helped locals. Representative Khamis Mohammed Amrani urged residents to stop wrecking public property and maintain the site to ensure long-term exports.
