MKU unveils robot ready to outsmart you

Mount Kenya University has established a new Robotics and AI laboratory, the first such facility in the region. The university also introduced an educational humanoid robot named Walker E. According to Chairman Simon Gicharu, this equipment will provide students with practical experience in programming and algorithm testing for artificial intelligence and data science.

The institution additionally upgraded its School of Engineering with new laboratory equipment focused on sustainable energy technologies. A separate Phantom Head Skills Laboratory was also unveiled to enhance practical training for dental students. Gicharu reaffirmed the university's commitment to supporting innovation, mentioning potential grants for outstanding student projects in artificial intelligence.

He encouraged students to participate in hackathons to develop their problem-solving abilities. University officials stated that these new resources are designed to prepare learners for leading roles in a technology-driven global landscape.
