Temba Mliswa went after Fadzayi Mahere for posting about national problems on X instead of handling them in Parliament back when she had the chance. Mahere bailed on her Mt Pleasant seat after winning by over 12,000 votes, saying she refused to work with people connected to what she called a corrupt system after Sengezo Tshabangu took over CCC with government backing.
Mliswa said her resignation handed the constituency to ZANU-PF, whose candidate won the next election by just 3,000 votes. He called her move weak and said she ditched voters who backed her. He argued that her criticisms of Emmerson Mnangagwa and Wicknell Chivayo come off as personal attacks rather than fact-based activism, and he thinks she traded real political work for chasing social media clout without delivering actual results for the people who elected her.
