Mnangagwa sends envoys to the US, UAE, South Africa, and Cuba

Zimbabwe has appointed four new ambassadors to key diplomatic posts. David Hamadziripi will serve in Washington, Isaac Moyo heads to Abu Dhabi, Lovemore Mazemo takes the Pretoria position, and Patrick Mutasa becomes the envoy to Havana.

President Mnangagwa briefed the diplomats at State House before their deployment. Hamadziripi emphasized improving bilateral ties with America, while Moyo received instructions prioritizing economic engagement with the Emirates. Mazemo will work to strengthen investment flows from South Africa, which remains a major trading partner and home to a substantial Zimbabwean diaspora that sends significant remittances.

Mutasa plans to activate existing pharmaceutical manufacturing agreements between Harare and Havana covering vaccine production for both human and animal use. The envoy noted both nations face American sanctions and maintain strong historical bonds dating to the liberation era, though economic cooperation requires further development in sectors including healthcare, agriculture, and sports.
