President Mnangagwa wants young people who receive government help to show real results. He gave out tipper trucks and front-end loaders to youth groups at State House yesterday. The equipment came from a $2 million revolving Presidential Youth Fund that started earlier this year. Three provinces got the second batch of machinery: Mashonaland West, Mashonaland Central and Harare.
The President told reporters that young people must prove they can deliver results with the equipment. He hopes they will return and tell him exactly what they accomplished with the trucks and loaders. Previous recipients have not come back to report their progress. He joked that if the new group fails to return with updates, he will declare them old. Everyone at the ceremony laughed at his comment about aging the young recipients.
