Modder Hacks CPU IHS into Wild DIY Waterblock

A creative computer builder made a water cooling system for a CPU without buying regular parts. This person carved channels directly into the metal heat spreader that covers the processor chip. They added water pipe fittings to this modified piece, turning it into a tiny version of normal cooling blocks. The builder shared their project in a video on YouTube.

Instead of using standard equipment, the modder picked a plastic bucket as the water container. They let water flow through their handmade system for certain periods before draining it into bottles. This setup works mainly for testing ideas rather than everyday computer use. Performance tests with an Intel Core i9-14900KS processor showed mixed results.

Temperature problems occurred because the carved metal had less surface area than regular cooling blocks would. When the water pump slowed down, heat levels jumped quickly. The unusual cooling method proved harder to manage than it first appeared. Most computer experts recommend buying proper cooling equipment instead of attempting similar projects at home.
