Modi fires up 97,500 BSNL towers in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch India's homegrown 4G technology stack and more than 97,500 telecommunications towers during a ceremony in Jharsuguda, Odisha. The infrastructure deployment spans eight states and connects 22 million citizens through 92,000 network sites. Modi described the project as representing India's transformation from dependency to self-reliance while responding to Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on social media. The initiative supports the government's Atmanirbhar Bharat program for domestic manufacturing.

Development projects worth Rs 60,000 crore will receive foundation stones and inaugurations across multiple sectors. The Prime Minister will address residents during the Saturday event marking BSNL's 25th anniversary. Engineers completed the indigenous technology stack within 22 months under the self-reliance initiative. The Digital India Fund will establish complete 4G coverage for approximately 30,000 villages nationwide.
