Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches BSNL's domestic 4G telecommunications infrastructure on September 27. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced the milestone during Friday's pre-launch ceremony. The deployment positions India among five nations manufacturing complete telecom systems alongside Denmark, Sweden, South Korea and China. Modi will activate the network from Jharsuguda, Odisha.
BSNL operates nearly 98,000 sites across the country through this indigenous technology stack. The Digital India Fund initiative connects approximately 30,000 villages through mission-focused expansion. C-DOT, Tejas Networks and TCS developed the completely domestic telecommunications technology. India's 5G subscriber base may grow from current 400 million users to 770 million by 2028.
