Modou Turo Comes Through for Bakau Neighbors

Alhaji Sosseh Colley has expressed deep thanks to Modou Turo Darboe for his generous help during Ramadan. Alhaji lives in Bakau Mamakoto and Katchikally but was born in Baddibu Salikenni. He spoke with The Standard about how Modou, whom he calls his "nephew," has supported him and the local people. For many years, Modou has given him 500 bags of sugar weighing 20kg each plus a bull for the Lailat-ul-Qadr celebration.

Alhaji asked Allah to keep blessing Modou with resources to help Muslims across The Gambia, Casamance, and Senegal. He believes people should look up to Modou because he helps everyone, regardless of religion, throughout the year. Alhaji stressed that Allah will reward such kindness. He prayed for Modou to enjoy a long life with excellent health and continued success in his work.

The grateful elder also wished for divine protection to cover Modou, his family members, and his Vision Development Foundation. Alhaji made these comments yesterday when speaking about the just-ended holy month. He wanted to publicly acknowledge the major difference these donations made for him and many others in his community during this important religious time.
