Moi Hospital in Chaos as Medics Strike Six Days

The big hospital in Eldoret needs help. Doctors stopped working six days ago because they wanted better treatment at work. The hospital leader, Dr. Phillip Kirwa, says they talk every day to fix the problem. They agree on many things but need to work out two more issues.

The doctors want things to move faster. Dr. Darwin Ambuka and Dr. Kamunzi Mule speak for the other doctors. They worry because the hospital needs more money to run well. They say their sick people need care, and the problems should be easy to fix.

Dr. Mercy Nabwire came to the hospital last Wednesday and told everyone the doctors would stop working. She said doctors love taking care of sick people but must stand up for what they need. She believes doctors can help sick people better when they feel happy at work.

The doctors want three main things. They want better jobs for doctors who work short time. They want the hospital to pay the money it owes them. They want doctors to move up in their jobs when they work hard. The hospital leaders keep talking with the doctors to make things right again.
