Mokwena unbeaten as MC Alger return to top of Ligue 1

South African coach Rhulani Mokwena has maintained his unbeaten record with MC Alger, securing a sixth consecutive victory with a 1-0 win over El Bayadh. The result on November 9 returned the club to the top of the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 standings. This match represented the team's third straight 1-0 triumph, underscoring a pattern of defensive solidity under Mokwena’s leadership.

Since his appointment in July, the Soweto-born manager has guided the team through twelve competitive matches without a defeat, achieving eight wins and four draws. His tactical approach has produced five clean sheets in the last six league fixtures. The team's current form positions them as strong contenders for the domestic title.

Mokwena’s successful start in North Africa has drawn significant attention from supporters in his home country, who view his achievements as a testament to South African coaching talent. His implementation of a disciplined defensive structure has been identified as a key factor in the club's prosperous run.
