Monnapule Saleng no no-show has Pirates fuming at OR Tambo Airport

Orlando Pirates left South Africa for Spain on Monday without star player Monnapule Saleng. The paparazzi waited at OR Tambo Airport hoping to see the winger board the plane with his teammates. They went home disappointed when Saleng failed to show up for the flight. The Soweto club wants to ramp up their pre-season preparations in Marbella before the new season kicks off. Their campaign starts on August 1st with an MTN8 quarterfinal clash against Polokwane City.

The Sea Robbers have arranged several friendly matches during their Spanish training camp. Bolton Wanderers from England and Granada from Spain will test Jose Riveiro's squad. New faces like Sihle Nduli, Oswin Appollis, and Yonela Mbuthuma traveled with the team. Fans are eager to see these fresh signings wear the famous black and white jersey. The club expects these players to make an immediate impact next season.

A source close to Pirates revealed that Saleng will catch a later flight to Spain. The talented winger needs to sort out some personal matters before joining his teammates. He will fly out on Thursday to link up with the squad at their training base. The club still considers him a vital part of their plans for the upcoming campaign. His late arrival should not affect his preparation time significantly.

Pirates plan to loan out Goodman Mosele and Azola Tshobeni to Chippa United. Both players need regular game time to develop their skills further. The moves will benefit all parties involved in the arrangements.
