Morocco inks AI pact with Mistral to power ethical innovation drive

Morocco established a strategic partnership with the French artificial intelligence company Mistral AI through an official agreement. Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni and CEO Arthur Mensch formalized this cooperation on September 12, 2025. The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform leads this initiative to advance Morocco's technology capabilities. Officials plan to develop local artificial intelligence expertise through educational programs and research projects. This collaboration supports startups and industrial ventures that apply AI solutions for Moroccan enterprises.

The partnership emphasizes ethical artificial intelligence practices and responsible data protection measures. Morocco seeks to become a regional leader in digital innovation and artificial intelligence development. High-ranking government officials attended the signing ceremony to demonstrate institutional support. Minister Ryad Mezzour, Omar Seghrouchni, Nezha Hayat, and Khalid Safir participated in the formal proceedings. Their presence highlights the broad commitment across public and private sectors for this technological advancement initiative.
