Most Russians are hitting up St Petersburg this June

Most Russians want to explore their country this summer. Nearly 80 percent plan trips around Russia during warm months. St. Petersburg stands out as the top choice for travelers during the June holidays. The northern city attracts 26.5 percent of all domestic tourists. Moscow comes in second place with just 7.5 percent of travelers.

Nizhny Novgorod ranks third among popular destinations with 5.8 percent of visitors. Hotel prices remain similar across these cities. Travelers pay about 3,500 rubles daily in St. Petersburg. Moscow hotels cost around 3,000 rubles per night. Nizhny Novgorod stays run slightly higher at 4,000 rubles.

Other cities also attract many Russian tourists. Sochi draws 4.6 percent of domestic travelers, Kazan welcomes 4.5 percent, Yekaterinburg sees 2.8 percent of the country's tourists, and Zelenogradsk brings in 2.2 percent of travelers. These numbers come from research done by the OneTwoTrip travel service.
