MOTU Digital Performer 12 adds Dolby Atmos and AI stems

Digital Performer 12 brings native Dolby Atmos mixing and AI stem separation to MOTU users. Spatial audio workflows now support channel layouts up to 9.1.6 with built-in binaural monitoring for headphone sessions. Machine learning splits mixed tracks into drums, bass, vocals, guitar, and even brass or string ensembles.

Arrangement Strip lets producers reorder song sections by dragging colored bars across all tracks simultaneously. Track Freeze operates with one click without creating duplicate audio files while allowing continued mixing. MusicXML import enables round-trip notation exchange with Dorico, Sibelius, and MuseScore for scoring workflows.

Pricing starts at $499 for new licenses or $195 for existing user upgrades. Windows 11 and macOS 12.7 compatibility ensures broad system support. High frame rates above 30 fps plus VST3 auto-migration address post-production and plugin management needs directly within the updated DAW environment.
