Malawi Property Investment Company threw 10 million kwacha at vocational programs and just watched 37 people finish electrical installation and plumbing courses at Soche Technical College in Blantyre. Property services head Eliot Jambo said the firm keeps backing skills training for people who need a leg up while college principal Greystone Mabveka thanked the company for funding practical lessons plus financial literacy workshops that taught graduates how to handle money.
Graduate Desire Linje from the electrical program said the training gives students what they need to launch their businesses and make their cash independently. The partnership between private sector players and schools tries to tackle unemployment by giving vulnerable folks the tools to boost their economic situation and help out their communities.
