MSI Displays Next Generation PSUs for AI and Gaming at CES 2025

MSI showed off new power supplies at CES 2025 from their high-end MEG and MPG lines. They introduced the fancy MEG Ai1600T and MPG A1250GS models with impressive specs. These power supplies meet all major standards, including 80 Plus, Cybernetics, PPLP, ATX 3.1, and PCIe 5.1. The super-premium MEG Ai1600T costs a whopping $699, which tech website Wccftech reported reviewers already have.

MSI added a 1000-watt version to the MPG line around late February. Just recently, three cheaper power supply options appeared online. A lucky tech enthusiast named chi11eddog received an early product catalog from MSI. He excitedly shared that the new MPG GS series can handle 235% power spikes - pretty impressive for mid-range models! The fancier MEG series handles slightly more at 240%.

The company website currently lists three MPG models - the A850GS plus 1000W and 1250W versions. All these power supplies come with two 12V-2x6 connectors built right in. They fully support the latest PCIe 5.1 standard for graphics cards. MSI boldly claims these power supplies can run two NVIDIA RTX 50 Series graphics cards at once for AI tasks.

These new power supplies represent MSI's push into premium PC components. The range covers different power needs from 850 watts up to a massive 1600 watts. Both product lines feature impressive power spike handling capability, which matters for modern graphics cards that draw huge amounts of electricity during intense gaming or AI processing tasks. PC builders planning future upgrades might appreciate this extra headroom.
