MSI puts a CMOS eye in its MPG 271QR monitor to watch you

MSI introduces the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 gaming display at $974, joining competitors in the high-refresh monitor market. The device achieves 500Hz performance at 1440p resolution through Samsung's third-generation QD-OLED technology. Professional users benefit from the monitor's 1.5 million to one contrast ratio and comprehensive color coverage spanning 98% AdobeRGB and 99% DCI-P3. VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification supports peak brightness levels reaching 1000 nits. The display utilizes DP 2.1 UHBR20 connectivity for 80 Gbps bandwidth delivery.

OLED Care 3.0 technology distinguishes this model through advanced burn-in prevention methods. The integrated AI sensor captures images every 0.2 seconds to monitor user presence and automatically disable the screen when vacant. Privacy protection remains paramount as the system processes data locally without internet connectivity. Users can activate the feature through Windows 11 or monitor controls for cross-platform compatibility. Additional functions provide adaptive dimming and automatic brightness adjustments based on environmental conditions.
