MSI shows off liquid-cooled RTX 5090 Lightning Z design

MSI leaked their own god-tier GPU before the actual show even started. The hardware vendor let visuals slip for the GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning Z through official CES paperwork. This monster ditches plastic fans for a built-in liquid cooling loop to manage crazy heat levels. The card pulls energy via dual 12V-2x6 connectors while rated for a massive 600 watts. Rumors suggest a heavy 360 mm radiator keeps the silicon from melting.

Documentation hints that the Lightning Z might have siblings. The series label implies the company could release different versions later on. Whether an air-cooled variant joins the party remains a mystery for internet detectives.

The Consumer Technology Association already handed out participation trophies. The Lightning Z grabbed an Honoree award while the GeForce RTX 5080 16G EXPERT took home the Best of Innovation title.

Full details will be available when the Las Vegas expo officially opens. This sneak peek confirms the flagship return focuses on extreme power delivery and water cooling.
