MTN Ghana empowers youth with mobile repair tools in Nyinahin

MTN Ghana gave tools to twelve young people after they learned how to fix mobile phones. The students finished three weeks of training at Nyinahin and received equipment like multimeters and screwdrivers. Company workers visited their data center on Friday and handed out the repair tools. Each person also got a certificate showing they completed the program. The training taught students how to fix screens, speakers, charging problems and unlock phones.

This program was part of MTN's yearly volunteer project called 21 Days of Y'ello Care. The company wanted to help rural communities learn digital skills and reduce technology gaps. Workers focused on connecting people through technology tools and training. The program ran from June first through June twenty-first this year. MTN hopes these students will start their repair businesses and teach others what they learned.

Charles Osei Akoto works as the technical head for MTN's Northern Business District. He told the students they did great work during their training sessions. Akoto urged them to keep learning new skills because artificial intelligence changes how people work. Peter Armah Bonsu spoke for all the students and thanked MTN for the opportunity. He said the training changed his life because he knew nothing about phone repairs before taking the classes.
