Mupamhanga launches drive to transform vocational training

Zimbabwe's Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training has introduced a comprehensive framework aimed at modernizing skills education throughout the country. Deputy Minister Kudakwashe Mupamhanga announced the initiative while addressing graduates from Bulawayo training facilities, stating that authorities intend to transform existing centers into innovation hubs supporting both domestic requirements and international standards.

The strategy includes establishing digital learning environments focused on programming, creative design and electronic commerce alongside enterprise incubators that will assist small businesses and cooperative ventures. Officials emphasized particular attention to Matabeleland and Bulawayo regions, ensuring programs address local industry demands while maintaining cultural inclusivity and protecting vulnerable populations.

The ministry plans to incorporate tracking studies, production facilities and accessible curriculum design to guarantee meaningful employment outcomes for program participants. The graduation ceremony recognized 296 students who completed instruction across multiple disciplines including agriculture, textile production, hospitality services, cosmetology and automotive repair.
