Murad Ali Shah chides federal government over Karachi water funds

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah opened the My Karachi exhibition at the Karachi Expo Center on Friday. The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the event that marks the start of Independence Day celebrations. Shah announced infrastructure projects worth 300 billion rupees currently transforming the city through the Karachi Mega Schemes. The chief minister revealed that Karachi will receive an additional 200 million gallons of water from Hub Dam by late 2025. Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani and Industries Minister Ikramullah Dharejo attended the ceremony.

The exhibition demonstrates Karachi's economic potential and business resilience according to the provincial leader. Transport improvements feature the People's Bus Service, Electric Buses, and a dedicated Pink Bus Service for women. The Shahrah-e-Bhutto corridor connecting to the M-9 Motorway should finish by December at 60 billion rupees cost. Shah criticized limited federal funding for the K-IV water project while praising the chamber's efforts. The chief minister described Karachi as Pakistan's economic center and Sindh's pride.
