Murmu's personal puja in Gaya puts the city on lockdown

President Droupadi Murmu travels to Gaya on Saturday for sacred Hindu ceremonies at Vishnupad Temple. The head of state will conduct Pind Daan and Tarpan rituals honoring ancestral spirits and seeking their salvation. Gaya ranks among Hinduism's most revered destinations for such ancestral worship practices. The temple sits beside the Falgu River and draws worshippers nationwide during the current Pitru Paksha observance period.

Rashtrapati Bhavan announced the presidential visit through an official declaration. Murmu will journey from Gaya Airport via a designated path through Gate Number 5, bypass roads, Narayani Bridge, and Bengali Ashram before returning along the same route. District officials have implemented comprehensive security protocols and traffic control measures throughout the city. Multiple roadways face temporary closure while alternative pathways remain available for public use. Authorities promise maximum protection with strict oversight ensuring both presidential safety and continued pilgrim access to religious sites.
