President Museveni campaigned in Kwania District on Saturday and called on Lango residents to support the National Resistance Movement in upcoming elections. The 80-year-old leader promised infrastructure improvements and expanded wealth programs to push Uganda toward middle-income status. He told crowds at Aduku Town Council that oil revenues starting in 2026 will generate an additional $2 billion annually for roads and schools.

He announced plans to distribute five cows to each household in northern Uganda after consulting regional leaders. Government figures show Kwania received 15.05 billion shillings under the development program and benefited more than 21,000 households. Uganda has paid 139.49 billion shillings to war claimants in Acholi, Lango and Teso since 2021.
