Museveni tells Bunyoro to ditch tribal and faith politics

President Museveni told people in Bunyoro to avoid tribal and religious politics during a Saturday event. He spoke at Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja's thanksgiving ceremony at Mpasana Seed Secondary School playground. The President said anyone who brings up tribes and religions in politics hurts the country. He believes the National Resistance Movement brought peace through good politics that includes everyone. Museveni wants leaders at every level to help bring people together.

The President urged citizens to focus on making money through farming, factories, and services. He said roads, electricity, schools, and hospitals are important but real change comes from creating wealth. Museveni talked about the Parish Development Model that helps people move from growing food just for themselves to making money. He wants farmers to use four acres with coffee, fruits, food crops, and grass for animals. People can also raise pigs and chickens in their backyards to earn more money.

Nabbanja thanked Museveni for trusting her and helping her career grow. MP Aisha Agaba complained that some officials in Kakumiro District Service Commission were taking money from job seekers who never made it to interviews. Religious leaders asked everyone to be honest and peaceful before the 2026 elections. Local officials want the government to send more teachers and health workers to their area.
