Mutharika warns MACRA chief Suleman of election day reckoning

Arthur Peter Mutharika criticized MACRA Director General Daud Suleman for ignoring correspondence from his legal team regarding Malawi Broadcasting Corporation programs. The Democratic Progressive Party leader addressed supporters at the party's manifesto launch in Blantyre, warning Suleman that voters will deliver judgment on September 16, 2025. Mutharika announced his fourth presidential campaign to rescue Malawi from its current hardships. He referenced his 2018 prophecy at Livingstonia CCAP Synod about evil leadership taking control of the nation.

The former president described citizens as trapped in hunger and poverty while living under government intimidation. Mutharika emphasized that leaders should earn respect through service rather than instill fear among the population. He promised constitutional governance and peaceful political processes under DPP leadership. The candidate urged voters to accept cash handouts while rejecting the current administration at polling stations. Mutharika concluded by highlighting his party's track record of fulfilling campaign promises during previous terms.
