The Malawi Electoral Commission certified presidential election outcomes from five districts, revealing Arthur Peter Mutharika and Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera as frontrunners. Mutharika's Democratic Progressive Party achieved decisive wins across Zomba City, Salima, and Neno constituencies. Chakwera's Malawi Congress Party secured a commanding victory in Ntchisi while showing a competitive performance in Salima. Dr Dalitso Kabambe from UTM placed third consistently across multiple districts. Former President Joyce Banda and other candidates registered minimal voter support.
Mutharika captured 8,971 votes in Karonga Town against Chakwera's 4,388 and Kabambe's 3,413 tallies. Zomba City delivered Mutharika an overwhelming 35,536 votes compared to Kabambe's 3,990 and Chakwera's 3,472 totals. Ntchisi provided Chakwera with 81,635 votes while Mutharika received only 11,365 ballots. Salima awarded Mutharika 60,830 votes and Chakwera 49,443 votes, respectively.
