Muturi Slams Abductions by Police as State Terrorism Threat

Former Attorney General Justin Muturi slammed Kenya's police forces for grabbing people off the streets. He called these surprise kidnappings state terrorism that breaks down the country's legal system. Muturi said officers hide their faces and use cars without license plates to snatch citizens from their homes. The police hold these people for days without letting families know where they are. Nobody tells the victims why they got taken away from their families.

Muturi pointed out that Kenya's constitution promises arrested people several rights. People must learn why police arrested them and can talk to lawyers right away. Courts must see arrested people within one day of their capture. Muturi said these police actions are kidnappings and not real arrests. He warned that dictators and military rulers use these same scary tactics.

The former government lawyer worried that regular people accept these police crimes as normal. News reporters call the kidnappings arrests instead of crimes. Muturi said this makes police think they can break laws without punishment. People who protest against the government become targets for these secret police squads. Young protesters get snatched from streets and nobody stops the officers.

Muturi demanded that President William Ruto take charge of his police forces. The Interior Ministry must shut down secret arrest teams and punish bad officers. Muturi said Kenya cannot call itself a democracy when police terrorize citizens. He warned that breaking laws for some people means laws protect nobody.
