Mwai Ndalama brings students to Parliament

Mwai MacPherson Ndalama, the Member of Parliament for Chiradzulu-Nyungwi, has reinforced his commitment to engaging young people by facilitating a visit for university students to observe Parliament. He stated that inspiring future leaders and ensuring transparency for elected officials were his key motivations. The initiative hosted approximately thirty-six students from the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences DPP Youth Wing and other colleges.

Ndalama reported organizing between forty and forty-five youth clubs in his constituency over the past year. He acts as an ambassador for these groups, financing activities in areas like music and sports. These programs correspond with the Democratic Progressive Party's goals for youth advancement in entrepreneurship and athletics.

Students who attended the parliamentary session found the experience very informative. David Scott from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences commented that the exposure helped him understand legislative operations and effective communication by members of Parliament. This outreach is part of a broader effort by younger politicians to involve students directly in governance.
