Myanmar hosts the 26th Traditional Cultural Arts Competition

The 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing Arts Competition (Central) for 2025 was held yesterday at various venues in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. Contestants from different regions and states participated in several categories at the National Museum's Mini Theatre, Wunzin Minyaza Hall, and Hsinbyushin Hall.

Events included men's classical song contests, girls’ song contests, and dancing contests for both boys and girls in various age groups. The song composing contest took place at Yinkyayhmu Yadana Hall, while violin and orchestra solo contests were held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture's training theatre and Pobbathiri Hall.

A total of 1,661 contestants participated in the competition, assessed by 107 panels of judges. Union-level dignitaries and officials attended the event.
