Myanmar sees 809,000 foreign visitors in 2025 so far

Myanmar attracted 809,000 international arrivals between January and October as Chinese, Thai and Korean tourists dominated visitor numbers, according to ministry statistics. Tourism officials acknowledged a modest decline from 2024's full-year total of 1.06 million foreign travelers, with Yangon, Bago, Bagan and Taunggyi remaining primary destinations alongside Ayeyawady Region coastal areas.

Authorities have eased visa procedures while mounting international exhibitions and digital campaigns to boost arrivals. The Southeast Asian nation emphasizes sustainable tourism through ASEAN standards and green energy adoption across the hospitality sector.
