On October 4, a combined team from the Drug Enforcement Division seized 207 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) worth approximately K1.696 billion in Tachilek Township, Shan State (East). Acting on a tip-off, the team searched the residence of Sai Shan Twi around 9 a.m. and arrested him, along with six others. Authorities also confiscated four vehicles connected to the drug operation.
At 10:30 a.m. the same day, the team searched the house of Sai Mon, identified as the owner of the seized narcotics, but he had already fled. The arrested suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and efforts to apprehend the remaining individuals are ongoing.
